Why I Wrote It

Reduce the risk. Even for one person.

I wrote 76 Percent to explore what partner dancing does for the brain, for memory, for connection, for the risk of dementia later in life. My grandmother lived with dementia, and that's what set me on this path. If this book helps even one person reduce that risk, it's done its job. If it helps more than one, all the better.

It sits at the intersection of everything I teach: dance is not just performance or exercise. It's a tool for the nervous system, for memory, and for staying connected to other people as we age.
